Advisory CouncilSeveral respected physicians and scientists have joined our team as advisors, after becoming interested in our therapy. These include doctors, scientific investigators and innovators with national or international reputations. These experts help us in many ways, such as guiding us in appropriate methods to examine, test and quantify our results.

Under their expert guidance, we have published articles and citations in some of the most respected in peer-reviewed journals in medicine (Fertility and Sterility, Medscape General Medicine, Contemporary Ob-Gyn, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine.) C. Richard King, M.D. is Medical Director of Clear Passage Physical TherapySM, and a co-author of several of our studies, as well as Co-author of our book Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain. Board-certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he is a gynecologist with more than 35 years of clinical experience. Dr. King served as Chief of Staff and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He is Medical Director of Florida Medical and Research Institute, PA, a clinical and research facility oriented to gynecology and research in women's health.

Dr. King says of his involvement with Clear Passage Physical Therapy® “I help bring oversight and guidance for research efforts. My many years of clinical gynecologic experience and my burning desire to explore the new ideas and therapies offered by Clear Passage provides me with a unique opportunity to continue to learn and grow.” Dr. King received his MD at the Medical College of Georgia and completed his residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1976.



Jonathan J. Shuster

Jonathan J. Shuster, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized biostatistician. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed methods papers in journals such as Biometrika, Statistics in Medicine, Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA), and Sequential Analysis (SA).  He served as Associate Editor of JASA and serves on the Editorial Board of SA. In addition, he has co-authored over 230 manuscripts in top peer- reviewed biomedical journals.  He is currently on his fifth standing National Institutes of Health "Study Sections" panels that review grant applications.  He has written one book and several book chapters on proper clinical study design. He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. He has directed more than $20 million in NIH grant research.

After receiving his Ph.D. in Math-Statistics from McGill University in 1969, Dr. Shuster became a professor of the University of Florida where he is currently Research Professor in the Division of Biostatistics, Department of Epidemiology/Health Policy Research, College of Medicine. He also serves as Biostatistician at the General Clinical Research Center where he continues to serve as Biostatistician on NIH funded research projects. Dr. Shuster has played an integral role in the study design and statistical analysis of the Clear Passage studies.


Dr. Lisa Conboy

Lisa Conboy is a social epidemiologist and a sociologist with an interest in the associations between social factors and health. She is published in the areas of Women's Health, Mind-Body Medicine, and Qualitative Research Methodology.

She is Co-Investigator on three funded grants from the US National Institutes of Health at the Osher Research Center, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Conboy is the Research Director and serves as part-time faculty at the New England School of Acupuncture where she teaches Research Methodology.

She is also a founding member the Kripalu research collaborative which examines the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and other holistic and mind-body therapies.

 


Dr. J. Moritz

Dr. Jacques Moritz has been a member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology faculty at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center since 1995 and Director of the Gynecology division since 2000. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Before arriving at St. Luke's-Roosevelt, he held several positions as a medical news reporter and consultant for television, radio and print media.

Dr. Moritz obtained his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where he also was trained and certified in microsurgery. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Moritz has a clinical interest in alternatives to surgery.


Mary Lou Ballweg

A world leader in the research and awareness of the plight of women and girls who suffer with endometriosis, Mary Lou Ballweg founded the Endometriosis Association in 1980. She is also its President and Executive Director of the Association, an organization she cofounded to promote awareness of and education regarding the disease endometriosis. Besides founding and leading the Association, she has overseen the publication of the Association's several books and its educational materials, an extensive body of literature on the disease, and the development of two million dollars-plus educational awareness campaigns, public service announcement campaigns, and many other outreach efforts.

Dr. Ballweg was instrumental in establishing Endometriosis Association research programs at Dartmouth Medical School and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Together with these fine medical schools, her Endometriosis Association has received several large research grants from the US National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Mendoza-Temple specializes in Integrative Medicine which features the innovative practice of combining conventional Western medicine with safe, evidence-based complementary and integrative therapies.

Her passion for integrative medicine evolved as she became increasingly aware of the success of these therapies among patients. She sought a model of medicine that included the mental, physical and spiritual aspects of a persona and their impact on healing.

Dr. Marvin A. Heuer is an internationally recognized research physician, and acts as a Research Consultant to Clear Passage Physical Therapy. Dr. Heuer served as Vice-President and Director of Clinical Research for IntegraMed, Inc. (Nasdaq: INMD) one of the largest providers of in vitro fertilization in the US. A respected researcher for most of his professional life, Dr. Heuer also served as Vice President of Smith Kline Beecham, Worldwide Research and Development.

Dr. Heuer was Chief Scientific Officer of Iovate Health Sciences, Inc., in Toronto, Ontario and has served as Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Florida. Dr. Heuer received his MD at the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1973 and is also Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice Physicians.

Dr. Scott Miles, is an active practitioner and advocate of innovative practices in Women’s Health, Dr. Miles has always been interested in alternatives to traditional medicine. He has a focus on approaches that integrate the best of all disciplines will ultimately benefit the patient the most.

As such, He and the late Dr. Larry Davis pioneered “The Center for Sexual Medicine” in Indianapolis Indiana in 2004, the first integrated center of its kind in the state.  Thereafter, he became deeply involved in natural and integrative approaches in women’s healthcare.  He now practices a “functional medicine” approach in balancing hormones including the Thyroid, Adrenal, Ovary and Gut issues.

In early 2008 he founded “Miles Ahead Health and Wellness, LLC” a company dedicated to managing hormone and wellness issues in both men and women.

Eugenia S. Scharf, Ph.D., has been involved in scientific research and evaluation for more than 35 years. Dr. Scharf received her MS and PhD in General Psychology with a specialty in Tests and Measurements from the University of Pittsburgh and University of Chicago, respectively. Her involvement in health and medical projects began in 1995 as a researcher/writer for The Medical Advisor: The Complete Guide to Alternative and Conventional Treatments (New York: Time-Life Books, 1996)..

Subsequently, Dr. Scharf became Senior Medical Editor and, in time, Editor of The Women's Health Digest, a journal founded by Morris Notelovitz, MD, PhD, an internationally known gynecologist and world expert on osteoporosis (Clear Passage directors ran the on-site physical therapy clinic for Dr. Notelovitz). The Women's Health Digest was later published under the auspices of IntegraMed (Nasdaq: INMD) one of the nation's largest providers of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) technologies. Over the past seven years, Dr. Scharf has provided independent review of the research methods, data charts, and statistical analyses of Clear Passage Physical Therapy®, which she says she finds "credible and technically sound." Dr. Scharf is a co-author of most of our published studies and continues to provide us with excellent guidance in our scientific investigations.
