Clear Passage Physical Therapy, World Leader in Natural Treatment for Pain and Infertility, Announces New Company Web site

Clear Passage Physical Therapy, founding company of the Wurn Technique® for the treatment of female infertility, and adhesion pain and dysfunction, announces the redesign of its website, www. clearpassage.com.

GAINESVILLE, FL – August 25, 2010 – Clear Passage Physical Therapy is pleased to announce the launch of its new website. The website, www.clearpassage.com, has a fresh new design, reorganized navigation, and new features, including:

Podcasts with streaming and downloadable episodes from Hands that Heal, interviews with the developers of the Wurn Technique

Educational eBooks and videos on treating female infertility, small bowel obstruction, endometriosis pain, post-surgical pain and adhesions, and much more

Free pdf book chapters from the Wurns’ book Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain

Social media connections and sharing capability

New informational pages for the Wurn Technique® and its treatment of Myomectomy Pain, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Chronic Neck Pain, Hysterectomy Pain, and Post-Mastectomy Pain

“The motivation behind this update was to provide an educational resource to the public on an alternative therapy for treating adhesion-related conditions, some of which were only thought treatable by surgery,” said Ashlynn Northcutt, Media Correspondent for Clear Passage Physical Therapy. The content-rich pages of this Web site provide a wealth of information to people searching for an effective natural treatment, or an alternative to drugs and surgery. In addition to therapy for women’s health conditions (female infertility, endometriosis, menstrual, and intercourse pain), the website now highlights other areas in which Clear Passage has seen success with men, women, and children.

The new home page design focuses on Clear Passage’s mission with the phrase, “We Treat, We Train, We Test.” Northcutt says, “Dedication to treating patients with the highest quality care, training skilled and reputable therapists in the Wurn Technique®, and conducting valid research to quantify the results of the therapy are the three pillars of Clear Passage.” These pillars will be employed as Clear Passage expands nationally by training and certifying physical therapists in major metropolitan areas. The national expansion will provide more locations for patients who travel from across the country and around the world for this unique physical therapy.

For more information, contact Clear Passage Physical Therapy at www.clearpassage.com or at 352.336.1433.

New York Times best-selling author and beloved authority on women’s health and wellness, Dr. Christiane Northrup, interviewed Larry and Belinda Wurn on her radio show, Flourish!

There was a delightful energy between Dr. Northrup and the Wurns as they discussed their journey in discovering the Wurn Technique®. Dr. Northrup commended the Wurns dedication in finding this technique in an effort to treat the source of Belinda’s own debilitating pain. What they discovered were tight, glue-like adhesions that formed as a result of the intense radiation therapy that Belinda endured during her battle with cervical cancer.

Larry and Belinda went on to explain that their pioneering work with fertility issues, sexual dysfunction, and bowel obstructions developed as a result of patient’s testimonies about natural pregnancies, increased function, and decreased pain following treatment at Clear Passage.

Dr. Northrup stated, “I’ll tell the entire world, I’m planning to come down and go through your program for five days.” Dr. Northrup has a true understanding of how adhesions can cause pain and dysfunction throughout the body.

Gainesville, FL (PRWEB) September 15, 2009 – Med-Art Press announces the official publication of ‘Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain.’ In this pioneering work, research gynecologist Richard King, MD joins physical therapist Belinda Wurn and her husband Larry to help patients avoid surgery for adhesion-related conditions causing female infertility, pain, and sexual dysfunction. www.miraclemoms.net (Order Book)

With over 700 pages, ‘Miracle Moms’ is an elegant combination of more than 80 heart-felt patient narratives, and 20 years of remarkable discovery and development of a ‘hands-on’ physical therapy, backed by published scientific research.

More than 100 original illustrations provide a visual journey into the body. The book explains why adhesions cause problems for millions of patients and their doctors, and why the unique manual therapy (Wurn Technique) was successful for so many women who were diagnosed ‘beyond help’ by their physicians – until this therapy fulfilled their dreams.

Top rated experts and physicians on these subjects are raving about this novel approach to women’s health.

Christiane Northrup, MD, Ob/Gyn and ‘New York Times’ best-selling author (who wrote the Foreword) says “Your work is a Godsend… a safe, natural, and effective therapy to enhance fertility and pelvic health.”

Harvard Medical School Instructor Dr. Lisa Conboy says, “Miracle Moms reads like a novel, rich in information…useful for people with pain or dysfunction. The use of patient narratives makes the therapy more understandable for health professionals and potential patients.”

Dr. Howard T. Sharp, President of the International Pelvic Pain Society says, “Patients with chronic pelvic pain should not ignore the value of manipulation therapy. This book illustrates this point beautifully with both medical detail and emotion. Women who suffer from chronic pelvic pain will benefit greatly by reading this book, not only from the hope it exudes, but from the therapy it describes.”

Medical Directors recommend this book for patients and for healthcare professionals. Dr. Melinda Ring of the Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, and Medical Director of Chicago’s Center for Integrative Medicine and Wellness says, “Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain will bring awareness and hope to legions of women suffering from pelvic pain and infertility disorders. With clear explanations, research studies and patient narratives this book brings a formerly ‘taboo’ topic front and center, opening the door for greater healing and quality of life. I recommend this to both patients and women’s health specialists alike.”

Others tout the emotional aspects of the 20-year journey of discovery. Julia Indichova, Director of the Fertile Heart Studio, and Author of ‘Inconceivable’ and ‘The Fertile Female’ said “The love story of Belinda and Larry Wurn, and the birth of the stunning Wurn Technique reveals beyond any doubt, that when we approach the body with reverence, intelligence and a desire to reduce suffering, we can repair what the most sophisticated technologies fail to fix. Read it and learn what a pair of skilled, listening hands can do.”

‘Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain’ is now available online for $24.95, a special authors’ discount, at www.miraclemoms.net. (Order Book)

The authors of ‘Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain’ prepare for their September 15 book publication and announce the launch of their social media and news site on adhesions, infertility, sexual dysfunction, and pain.

Gainesville, FL, September 11, 2009 – ‘Miracle Moms’ co-authors Larry and Belinda Wurn, recognized leaders in non-surgical treatment for female infertility and chronic adhesion pain, launch www.miraclemoms.net. This new site is geared towards news and online social connections about subjects in their upcoming book, ‘Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain: A Remarkable Journey in Hands-on Healing for Infertility, Pain, Sexual Dysfunction, and Adhesions.’

According to the National Center for Health Statistics, an estimated six million women in the US experience infertility, and that number is growing. Ovulation problems account for a big part of female infertility; warning signs include irregular or absent menstruation. Adhesions and blocked fallopian tubes are also major causes of infertility. Fallopian tubes can become blocked by adhesions after surgery, trauma, infection, or inflammation.

Adhesions can form whenever the body heals from infection, inflammation, surgery or trauma. Pelvic and abdominal surgeries such as laparoscopy, C-section or D&C are primary causes of adhesions. Traumas such as auto accident, fall, or abuse also cause adhesions. Infection and inflammation (endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, or STD) can all cause adhesions to form in the bowel or female reproductive organs. As adhesions grow, they can restrict normal body function and cause pain and dysfunction, including nearly half of all female infertility.

“We have already featured three ebooks at miraclemoms.net and plan to offer more,” says Co-Author Larry Wurn, LMT and Director of Clinical Studies of Clear Passage Therapies. “These ebooks are free to our website guests and cover chapters directly from Miracle Moms on blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis pain, endometriosis and infertility, and coming soon, surgical and bowel adhesions.”

‘NY Times’ best selling author Christine Northrup, MD wrote the Foreword. Physicians and authors from Harvard, Columbia, Northwestern medical school, and more join her in praising ‘Miracle Moms’.

“Your work is a Godsend,” says Dr. Northrup. “A heartfelt thank you for providing women all over the world with such a safe, natural, and effective therapy to enhance fertility and pelvic health.”

Co-Author Belinda Wurn, PT, Clinical Director of Clear Passage Therapies says, “We hope miraclemoms.net will become a resource for people to learn and connect on topics focused on infertility, adhesions, and related health issues.”

Gainesville, FL (PRWEB) September 2, 2009 — Adhesions are a leading cause of female infertility, pain, and sexual dysfunction. Many women have avoided surgery for these conditions by using a ‘hands-on’ physical therapy, with proven scientific results.

In the upcoming book ‘Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain,’ research gynecologist Richard King, MD joins Belinda and Larry Wurn to share a 20-year medical journey examining a physical therapy treatment to help patients achieve goals of pregnancy, better sex, and a pain-free life. Born from Belinda’s debilitating adhesion pain after cancer surgery, ‘Miracle Moms’ is a pioneering work.

Endorsed by Christiane Northrup, MD, ‘New York Times’ best-selling author (who wrote the Foreword) and physicians from Harvard, Columbia, Northwestern, and other fine medical schools, this book promises to usher in a women’s health revolution for the 21st century.

“A heartfelt thank you for providing women all over the world with such a safe, natural, and effective therapy to enhance fertility and pelvic health. Your work is a Godsend,” says Dr. Northrup.

With over 700 pages, ‘Miracle Moms’ is an elegant combination of more than 80 heart-felt patient narratives, and 20 years of theory, development, treatment, and published scientific research. More than 100 original illustrations provide a visual journey into the body and help explain how adhesions cause problems for so many patients and doctors, and why the unique manual therapy (Wurn Technique) was successful for so many women who were diagnosed “beyond help” by their physicians – until this therapy fulfilled their dreams.

The authors have published studies in some of the most respected peer-reviewed medical journals in the US. Studies in ‘Medscape General Medicine’ (2004) and ‘Fertility and Sterility’ (2006) showed that the therapy improved female fertility and decreased or eliminated endometriosis pain and intercourse pain in most participants. A major study in ‘Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine’ (2008) showed that the therapy opened totally blocked fallopian tubes in women who had been diagnosed infertile – a feat previously thought impossible. Most had natural pregnancies after their tube(s) opened.
Gainesville, FL (PRWEB) December 3, 2008 – As the Christmas season begins, more and more shoppers are turning to their computers to find the perfect gifts. Clear Passage Therapies, a recognized leader in manual physical therapy for adhesions, pain, and infertility, offers seven steps to help online holiday shoppers ease or eliminate pain.

Larry Wurn, Director of Clinical Studies, Clear Passage Therapies, and co-author of a new book Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain, says, “Poor posture and increased time at the computer can lead to head, neck, and shoulder pain and stiffness.”

Wurn suggests the following tips to improve online shopping stamina and avoid postures that can cause pain:

Start with a solid foundation – find a good chair that supports your back and forearms.

Your feet should touch the floor. If they don’t, use a footrest to give yourself additional support.

Adjust the height of your computer screen to the same level as your eyes. Wurn says, “If your screen is adjusted too low, the muscles at the back of your neck work overtime, causing chronic neck and shoulder pain or headaches at the base of the skull.”

Avoid hunching forward since this causes neck strain and spasm. If you keep a reverse curve in your low back, your upper body will generally be in a near-perfect position to relieve strain. You can put a small pillow or little section of the newspaper in your low back to remind you to sit up straight. According to Wurn, “When you need to lean closer to the screen, bend from the hips, not the low back.”

Let your shoulders relax. The body is more stable when the shoulders are down, resting on the torso. If you are not sure whether your shoulders are relaxed, lift them once and then let them drop.

Get up and move at least once every hour – more often if possible. Mobility is an essential part of life and helps avoid chronic pain.

Support your forearms by placing them on the arm-rests of your chair. Ideally, your wrists should be slightly lower than your elbows.

Wurn writes more about chronic pain and posture, and treatment for people with chronic pain in Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain, a book he is co-authoring to be published in January. The table of contents is available at the Clear Passage Therapies blog to spur discussions with readers on important topics. A free e-book excerpt from the book will be available in December at http://www.clearpassage.com.

Clear Passage Therapies offers six back-saving tips to help holiday shoppers ease or eliminate back pain during an all-day shopping spree.

Gainesville, FL November 21, 2008 — Clear Passage Therapies, a recognized leader in manual physical therapy for adhesions, pain, and infertility, offers six back-saving tips for holiday shoppers hitting the malls and outlets this season.

“Your low back is the center and core of your body,” says Larry Wurn, President and Director of Clinical Studies, Clear Passage Therapies. “Taking care of your low back is key in maintaining a strong, healthy body overall.”

According to Wurn, the six major tips shoppers should use to reduce potential back pain associated with a long day of shopping are

Wear comfortable shoes with good cushioning support; flip-flops and high heeled shoes are not recommended.

Avoid carrying any weight (e.g. purse, presents, or a baby) on one side of your body. “Weighty objects should be carried close to the center of your body to minimize stress on your low. back,” he said. “Hold them in close – or use a back-pack attached evenly on both shoulders.”

Condense your large purse to a smaller lightweight satchel to keep the excess weight to a minimum.

When you can, use a cart instead of a hand-basket for your purchases. A cart will not only take a huge weight off your shoulders and back, it will lend valuable support to your low back.

Don’t let the stress of shopping cause you to lift your shoulders. High shoulders are inefficient, carry less weight and can quickly cause neck pain or headaches during a day of shopping. Let your shoulders relax onto your chest; then use your arms to lift, keeping your packages low and close to your body.

Concrete and tiled floors can be hard on the back so take regular breaks to sit, or elevate your feet. A 5 to 10 minute break off your feet for every hour of shopping is a good plan.

Wurn and his wife, Belinda, are currently co-authoring a book, ‘Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain’, that examines their non-surgical manual physical therapy (Wurn Technique®). The therapy has been shown in peer-reviewed medical journals to reduce adhesions, decrease pain, and restore function. It has proven effective for many people without the risks or side effects of surgery or drugs. It can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other treatments.

‘Miracle Moms’ will be published this winter, with medical insights by research gynecologist and co-author Richard King, MD. A ‘sneak peek’ is available at the Clear Passage Therapies blog to spur discussion with readers on important topics. A free e-book excerpt chapter will be available in December at http://www.clearpassage.com.

Gainesville, FL (PRWEB ) November 19, 2008 – Endometriosis is a painful and debilitating condition for millions of women and girls, robbing them of their quality of life. While the cause of endometriosis is unknown, some pioneering studies about a non-surgical treatment are now bringing hope for some women.

In an upcoming book, Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain, gynecologist Richard King, MD and a physical therapy team examine a manual physical therapy (Wurn Technique®) that has decreased or eliminated pain associated with endometriosis for many women.

The Wurn Technique® was originally created to treat the adhesions co-author and physical therapist Belinda Wurn developed after pelvic surgery and radiation therapy following a diagnosis of cervical cancer. “I had double-over pain,” she said. “I could not work or stand up straight. It hurt to sit and even to breathe; the pain was unrelenting.”

After the Wurn Technique resolved Belinda’s pain, she was able to return to work. She and her husband, massage therapist Larry Wurn began treating other conditions related to adhesions. They soon learned that adhesions and endometriosis pain were intimately related.

Adhesions associated with endometriosis can cause pain anywhere in the body (abdomen, pelvis, low back). Dysfunctions such as poor digestion, irritable bowel, and infertility may also result from the adhesions and endometriosis. “We believe that the pull of adhesions on pain-sensitive structures is what causes the severe, debilitating pain in many women with endometriosis,” said Larry Wurn. “In fact, adhesions are frequently found in and near sites of endometrial implants.”

Women with endometrial implants often report a great deal of pain, which may occur

before and during menstruation (dysmenorrhea),

with ovulation,

with sex (dyspareunia),

with urination, bowel movements, diarrhea, or constipation.

While physicians do not know the exact cause of endometriosis pain, they often recognize an intimate relationship between endometriosis and adhesions; when they find endometriosis, they often find adhesions nearby.

The Wurns have published several studies on the Wurn Technique in peer-reviewed medical journals. Studies in ‘Medscape General Medicine’ (2004) and ‘Fertility and Sterility’ (2006) showed that the therapy improved fertility and decreased or eliminated endometriosis and intercourse pain in most participants. In a study from ‘Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine’ (2008) the therapy opened blocked fallopian tubes in women who had been diagnosed infertile. Many had natural pregnancies after their tube(s) opened, and some have had second natural pregnancies – indicating that the results of therapy lasted for years in some women.

Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain will be published this winter. The table of contents is available at the Clear Passage Therapies blog to spur discussions with their readers on important topics. A free e-book excerpt from the book will be available in December at www.clearpassage.com.

The cost of infertility treatments can quickly add up for couples trying to conceive. New infertility treatment bargains can help couples save cash for when their bundle of joy arrives.

Gainesville, FL (PRWEB) November 12, 2008 — Finding the right infertility treatment is already difficult for many of the seven million US women and their partners diagnosed with infertility. Today’s tough economy can make that task even more challenging.

Treatment is not covered by insurance in most states, leaving many patients overwhelmed with the high costs of medical treatment, surgery, and fertility drugs. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) shows the average price of in vitro fertilization (IVF) is $12,400 per attempt. With a national IVF pregnancy rate of around 30%, several attempts may be required, increasing costs further.

“Several IVF clinics are starting to offer lower cost alternatives, such as a guarantee of success within three attempts or some refund,” said Richard King, MD, a co-author of the upcoming book, Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain. “Be sure to ask if the program reimburses for fertility medications, which can cost several thousand dollars per cycle.”

“Whether daunted by the high costs, health concerns about surgery or fertility drugs, or by religious beliefs, some couples turn to alternative therapies. “At least three alternative infertility treatments have been shown to improve fertility” according to infertility expert, physical therapist Belinda Wurn and co-author of Miracle Moms, Better Sex, Less Pain.

“Acupuncture, group therapy, and a manual physical therapy (Wurn Technique®) have published peer-reviewed studies showing increased pregnancy rates,” explained Dr. King. Acupuncture increased IVF pregnancy rates when performed 25 minutes before and after embryo transfer, according to a German study published in Fertility and Sterility (2002). Acupuncture sessions generally range from $60 to $100 per session.

In another F&S study (2000), group therapy increased fertility rates. Group therapy can be a real bargain, especially since many organizations and communities offer free sessions.

The Wurn Technique, a manual physical therapy, increased pregnancy rates for women seeking natural conception to 71%. It also increased clinical pregnancy rates for those using IVF to 67%, when used before embryo transfer, according to a study in Medscape General Medicine (2004). The women in the studies averaged five years of infertility before receiving the therapy.

“The Wurn Technique appeals to many women as an infertility treatment because it does not involve drugs or surgery,” Wurn said. “In addition, the treatment costs are significantly less than IVF.”

Wurn developed the therapy with her husband Larry Wurn to help cure her pelvic pain 20 years ago. Wurn states, “I am thrilled that we are now able to offer an affordable infertility treatment that is effective.” Studies and citations on the Wurn Technique® have been published in major medical journals including Fertility and Sterility, Medscape General Medicine, and Contemporary Ob/Gyn.
