Clear Passage Physical Therapy Opens a New Clinic

A natural “hands-on” treatment to treat infertility, pain and recurring bowel obstruction is now available in Indianapolis, Indiana. Clear Passage Physical Therapy introduced their newest physical therapist-director Amy Robinson, as a certified practitioner in November, 2011.

Clear Passage Physical Therapy, which provides a unique hands-on treatment to patients from around the world, opened a new clinic in Indianapolis, Indiana in November, 2011. With research published in major medical journals, the group will expand its patent-pending hands-on therapy for infertility, pain and bowel obstruction to the Mid-West region.

“This location will allow patients from the northern and central US many options for travel, with several major airports in the area,” said Belinda Wurn, PT, and National Director for the group. “This location will join a network of Clear Passage clinics in Florida, Washington DC, and California.”

The Indianapolis Clinic Director, Amy Robinson, PT, has over 16 years experience as a physical therapist. She has extensive training and knowledge in treating adhesions, pelvic floor dysfunction, and chronic pain. In her role at Clear Passage Physical Therapy, Amy will treat similar conditions, adding post-surgical pain, and female infertility.

She will also treat small bowel obstructions – a life-threatening condition that heretofore has only been treated by surgery. “This is an important advance,” said Robinson, “I have worked with wonderful surgeons – and most recognize that abdominal surgery puts their patients at risk for repeat obstructions.” Her certification and expertise will create a seamless merger with the pioneering work of the Wurns in their continuing efforts to provide therapy and research in previously uncharted areas of non-surgical therapy.

A “Hands-On” Physical Therapy Replaces Infertility Surgery

A manual physical therapy protocol (Wurn Technique®) continues to show good results for

Physical therapist Belinda Wurn studies before and after x-rays of a patient who came to a Clear Passage clinic after being diagnosed by her physician with two severely blocked fallopian tubes.

women diagnosed infertile due to adhesions or blocked fallopian tubes, according to authors of a recent study. The therapy, considered innovative because it requires neither surgery nor drugs, focuses on decreasing the scars and adhesions that contribute to female infertility, and block fallopian tubes.

“Three years after publication of our original studies, the therapy continues to produce good results. Women diagnosed infertile are able to conceive naturally, without the physical risks and financial stress associated with fertility drugs and surgeries,” said study author, physical therapist Belinda Wurn. “Physicians are paying more attention after the work received coverage in some major medical journals,” she said.

In the initial study, the patent-pending therapy (Wurn Technique®) opened fallopian tubes in most of the women with totally blocked tubes, and most of those became pregnant naturally. A scientific examination of the therapy, performed at Clear Passage Physical Therapy® clinics, was published in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, and reviewed in Contemporary Ob/Gyn. Theauthors hope to begin a larger, controlled study later this year.

Previous studies and citations on the therapy note its effectiveness in related areas, including significant decreases in pelvic pain associated with endometriosis, menstruation, and intercourse. For more information, visit http://www.clearpassage.com.

VIDEO: Opening Blocked Fallopian Tubes – Naturally

I had adhesions along my fallopian tubes, and one of my tubes was partially blocked. When I found out I was pregnant, we were just thrilled.

We did a total of four in vitro fertilizations which all failed. No pregnancies with any of them. So by that time we were really at our wit’s end and we were considering adoption. And then a friend of mine had told me about Clear Passage Therapies.

When I came to Clear Passage, I just felt like a warm welcome. At the time I was emotionally exhausted by the whole thing of trying to have a baby.

Even when I had my free consultation, the physical therapist that evaluated me was very compassionate, almost understood what I’d already been through. I think I really got individual care here. I felt like even just the atmosphere in each of the rooms was very calming. It was relaxing and I feel like my body got something out of it besides a pregnancy.

I had adhesions along my fallopian tubes, and one of my tubes was partially blocked. Again, I felt like it was some kind of overall overhaul going on in my body. So I felt like it was very much a positive thing.

When I found out I was pregnant, it kind of just came up and we were just thrilled.

One of the things also about when I was here getting my therapy sessions, I really felt like the people were some of the best health professionals that I’d ever met. Being a health professional myself, I meet physicians and nurses every day, and just the compassion here and the professionalism is excellent.

I would definitely recommend Clear Passage whether its women who’ve gone through infertility the standard way with medicine or procedures, or those that are just looking for an alternative measure and don’t want to go through all the infertility procedures.

Video: Reclaiming Life After Surgery and Bowel Obstruction

This place is saving lives.

I thought, you know, I do have a chance at a quality of life again, and I know that these people have saved my life.

I thought it was very important that I share some of the things that I have gone through in my life that are directly related to many surgeries that I have had that have caused me to have bowel obstructions and many, many surgeries.

At the age of 38, I entered the hospital and was given a 20 percent chance to live in the emergency room. Immediately, I was taken upstairs to the intensive care unit. My mother and my wife sat next to my bed and watched me for 69 days hoping and praying that I would eventually heal.

They were told that the best thing they could do was that I would at best be in a wheel chair and at best I would have brain damage. After the 69 days, I came out of a coma. I was very miserable and weighed about 100 pounds. At that point I looked at myself, at all the tubes, and wondered, how am I going to get through this.

I finally got out of the hospital and little did I know how important physical therapy would become in my life.

One day, I’m sitting on the sofa with my wife and start experiencing some severe pain. She suggested that we go to the hospital so we go to the hospital. They had diagnosed me with a bowel obstruction. I had no idea what a bowel obstruction was or that I could get a bowel obstruction from my first surgery. They repaired the bowel obstruction, and what I mean by repair is they remove nine inches of what they call a twisted bowel and I remained in the hospital for 32 days.

The most annerving thing I ever heard was, “There’s nothing we can do about this, you’re probably going to get another bowel obstruction, and we will see you again.” I was flored at that point and very confused, very hurt. I did not know what I was going to do.

I started my search. I did not know where to start, I did not know what I was doing, and didn’t really know what a bowel obstruction was. Later I found out that actually it is the adhesion that actually closes off the bowel which could cause a partial and sometimes even a complete obstruction. There’s nothing they can do about these adhesions, which once again, was very upsetting.

I started first by looking on the internet. I searched for weeks looking for something. By the grace of God, I clicked on a site that speaks about an incredible system that has been developed by Larry and Belinda Wurn. This process is actually called the Wurn Technique.

You do not have to go through the painful process of the NG tube and the healing and the pain that goes along with that. There is someone out there that can put you in a situation where it will not happen again. This technology is out there, this technique is out here.

This place is saving lives. There’s no other way I can put it. They are saving lives. That is why I am sitting right here, right now, telling my story.

New Clear Passage Clinic in Virginia

Relief for chronic pain and natural treatment for infertility will soon be available in Northern Virginia, just south of Washington D.C. Clear Passage Physical Therapy welcomes physical therapist, Kathy Hess, to their newest clinic, opening on August 1, 2011.

With over 1,000 babies born to women diagnosed infertile, and research published in major medical journals, Clear Passage Physical Therapy is expanding its pioneering hands-on treatment for infertility and pain to Northern Virginia. Opening August 1, 2011 south of Washington, D.C., the new clinic will provide a natural alternative to surgery for complex conditions including infertility, chronic pain, adhesions, endometriosis, and small bowel obstruction.

“Due to its central East Coast location, this clinic will allow patients from Boston to Savannah the option to travel to the clinic by car, train, or by air to the three nearby airports,” said Belinda Wurn, PT, and National Director for the group.

Clinic Director Kathy Hess, PT, has over 20 years of hands-on therapy skills. While her experience spans many areas of rehabilitation, Kathy has a strong focus on treating chronic pain and dysfunction over the last two decades. Her expanded role with Clear Passage now includes treatment of female infertility, post-surgical adhesion pain, and small bowel obstruction – a common life-threatening condition.

The therapy she will provide, the Wurn Technique®, has been featured in major medical journals for its ability to improve fertility, decrease pain and open blocked fallopian tubes. Her certification will allow the merger of her extensive experience with the pioneering work of the Wurns in their continuing efforts to research uncharted areas of non-surgical therapy. Recent clinical data shows the therapy’s success in clearing small bowel obstruction, a condition previously treatable only by surgery.
