Watch a Clear Passage Physical Therapy patient share her story about her journey to overcome the pain and discomfort associated with years of surgery. After receiving treatment for Small Bowel Obstruction (SBO), she finally is pain-free.
I feel very confident about being able to use the tools I have learned here, and if anything comes up, which I don’t even expect anything else to be an issue, then I can work on it myself from home. So, I am really happy about that.
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was ten. For twelve years I was on and off all different types of medication, even hospitalized sometimes. It just came to a point where I had to get my colon removed as I was not responsive to any medication.
I felt great right after surgery, for a couple of weeks. Then I started having some pain after surgery and I wasn’t sure what it was. We thought maybe it was Pouchitis, which is inflammation you can get in the pouch causing the same symptoms an Ulcerative Colitis. I was some antibiotics for a while. Then probably about two to three weeks after that I was in excruciating pain. It was a complete total blockage.
I was constantly looking. I finally learned that it was adhesions. I would go on the internet to look for information about adhesions and I found Clear Passage Physical Therapy. And we started checking into it and to Clear Passage.
We came down and everything fell into place. After she explored, we both had a piece of mind about it. The key was to heal something without surgery, which causes adhesions in the first place.
When I first got here, everything was pulling. I didn’t want to stand up straight, and it felt like everything in my stomach was pulling. After the first few sessions, it felt like a belt was taken off around my stomach-Like I could breathe again. It was a really “ahhhhh” feeling. It just felt good.
After visiting Clear Passage Physical Therapy, the amount of time that I had to work on her dramatically decreased, and that was the most noticeable change for me. She felt like the work that you guys did throughout the 20 hours of treatment really freed things up. We learned a lot about adhesions. Very educational. Just the descriptions used is extremely helpful. Adhesion being like a rubber band and a rubber ball and how they would break up. It was very helpful. That was the main thing that I noticed, that we didn’t’ have to work on her stomach hardly ever.
