The Impact of Small Bowel Obstruction on Quality of Life

Have you had a small bowel obstruction in the last 2 years?

If so, you are invited to join a research study to examine the impact of small bowel obstruction on the quality of life using a validated questionnaire. The study looks at the overall quality of life using a computer based questionnaire over the course of 3 months in order to quantify the overall impact on the day to day functions of patients.

Potential benefits to study subjects

There is no direct benefit to study subjects, however, the information from this study will provide data on the overall impact on small bowel obstruction on the quality of life in patients.

How long does the research study last?

The study involves completing two (2) questionnaires, 3 months apart via an online system, so enrollment lasts about 3 months. Your identity will remain anonymous, except for study staff.

Who can participate?

-Men and women in the United States between the ages of 18 and 90 with a history of small bowel obstruction in the last 2 years and not undergoing current treatment for cancer.

-You must not have received prior treatment at Clear Passage to participate in this study.

If you chose to participate in this research study, you will be compensated for each of the questionnaires completed, up to $50. The questionnaires are available online and do not require visits to any clinic locations.
